South African Air Force (SAAF) Lieutenant-General, Lieutenant-General of Wiseman, Simo Mbambo, paid an official visit to Pakistan, where he met the chief of the staff of the Pakistan Air Force air force (PAF), Marshal Air Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu in Islamabad, according to Islamabad the army media wing.
Upon arrival, the visit dignitary was greeted by an official honor custody by an intelligently discouraged contingent of Pakistan Air Force, said inter-service public relations (ISPR) in a statement.
During the meeting, the head of the PAF underlined the strong bilateral relationship between Pakistan and South Africa, emphasizing the shared values and aspirations that underlie the deep friendship of the two nations. He reiterated PAF’s commitment to strengthen the air combat capacities of the South African Air Force thanks to tailor -made training and strengthening initiatives, according to the ISPR.
Lieutenant-General Mbambo praised the operational preparation of the PAF, congratulating his multi-domain war capacities and his success in maintaining a credible deterrent posture. He recognized the high standards maintained by the PAF and expressed his admiration for his technical excellence, he added.
A key objective of the discussions was the overhaul of the SAAF training regime. Lieutenant-General Mbambo expressed his desire to support the PAF in the development of a modern and complete training framework, starting at the academy level.
He also requested the participation of SAAF officers as an observers in the main operational exercises of the PAF to improve learning and promote collaboration, in accordance with the ISPR report.
In addition, the head of the SAAF spoke of the possibility of increasing technical collaboration between the two air forces, in particular in the planes maintenance zone.
Recognizing profitable maintenance capacities and the technical excellence of the PAF engineering infrastructure, the LT General Mbambo has transmitted the intention of SAAF to undertake the inspection and maintenance of its C-130 fleet in Pakistan.
The discussions have underlined a mutual desire to institutionalize and further strengthen the formal relationship between the PAF and the SAAF.
This meeting is expected to open the way to more in -depth cooperation between the two forces, guaranteeing improved operational capacities and shared military expertise.
