The spectator was declared dead on the scene, the station reported. The Colorado Springs fire service, the University Police and the Colorado Springs police all answered calls.

“We have a heart broken by this horrible accident and we focus on the support of all those involved,” said the Chancellor of Jennifer Sobanet University in a statement.

The victim was the father of one of the athletes who participated in the event, according to the Colorado United Track Club.

Colorado Springs police told Krdo-TV that man protected his wife from 25 pounds.

“If it were certified, I think it would be higher and there would be no seats there and they would have already tested it to see if there was a possible incident, everything could Perform before having two hundred people there, “said a spectator in KKTV.

The hammer throw is one of the signature events for the athletics competition. The weight is attached to a handful, and the athlete turns and lets him go down on the ground.
