- SSD SSD Monster 122.88TB D5-P5336 is now officially available
- It is designed to respond to requests for modern data infrastructure
- The initial estimates suggested $ 14,000, but you can order it for “just” $ 12,399
Originally announced in November 2024, the 122.88 TB model of Soligm SSD D5336 officially sold.
If you have already wondered how one of these giant capacity SSDs could make you go back, the answer is: maybe not quite that you can imagine, that the first estimates have placed its price nearly $ 14,000, but you can really recover the tech-American player for 12,399 $ much more affordable.
Obviously, this is not a reader for your typical PC platform – it uses a 4.0 PCIE interface and is available in U.2 form factors (available now) and E1.L (later expected this year). It is intended for business storage environments that manage large -scale workloads, automatic learning and data.
QLC more sustainable
The reader is built with NAND QLC 192 layers. With an endurance evaluated at 0.60 writing per day and a total of 134.3 petacts written over five years, the 122.88 TB model is designed to last longer than the previous QLC offers.
Soligm, a subsidiary based in the United States of SK Hynix, would have tested the reader in extreme conditions. Executing 32 KB Random Writs at full load, the reader worked continuously for five years and has kept around 5% of his life.
Performance claims include up to 930,000 IOPS for 4K and 7.4 Gbit / s random readings for sequential readings.
Solidigm markets its large SSD as a solution to space and power constraints in data centers, saying that replacing traditional hybrid systems with its all-QLC discs could reduce the use of nine to one racks and reduce energy consumption by around 90%.
The reader joins other high -capacity SSDs announced in 2024, including models of Phison, Samsung and Western Digital. The PHISS SSD supports PCIe Gen5 and offers a faster peak flow, although the D5-P5336 offers a higher endurance rating and greater storage density.
