Slugger of Los Angeles Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani, played on Tuesday in a continuation of his launch program in his return from Elbow Surgery.
Ohtani joined the Dodgers on Sunday after his wife, Mamiko Tanaka, gave birth to the couple’s first child in Southern California. The bidirectional star went 0 for 3 with a walk in the 1-0 victory of the Dodgers in Texas.
After a day of leave, Ohtani, 30, threw the outside field at Wrigley Field before the opening of a two game game against the Chicago Cubs. He should have a light children’s session on Wednesday and a “full enclosure” on Saturday, said manager Dave Roberts.
“I still do not know what is the next step,” said Roberts, “and I think that it will start to face the strikers, so it will start to become more pronounced. But at the moment, he is still in the mode of simply launching enclosures, and he still has not yet launched cursors.”
Ohtani has not presented a major league match since August 23, 2023, for the Los Angeles Angels. He recovered from a right -in -way surgery on September 19, 2023. He took a work break after a mound session on February 25 to prepare for the opening day as a hitter.
The reigning MVP NL, which signed a $ 700 million contract over 10 years with the Dodgers in December 2023, beaten 277 with six circuits and eight points produced in the series in Chicago.
The left -handed Blake Snell also played Catch on Tuesday, and Roberts said it had gone well. Snell is on the 15 -day injured list due to inflammation of the shoulder.
Tyler Glasnow remains on the right track to start home on Sunday against Pittsburgh. The 31 -year -old right -hander left Sunday’s victory against the Rangers due to the lower leg cramps.
“I have not seen Glas, but training staff, they said there were no more cramps,” said Roberts. “While we are traveling here in Chicago, he was fine.”
