Actor Jerry Adler died on Saturday in New York. He was 96 years old.
His death was confirmed by his family, who revealed that the actor of sopranos “succeeded peacefully in his sleep”. No immediate cause has been given.
Adler played Tony Soprano Hesh Rabkin’s advisor on the six seasons of Sopranos and played the legal partner Howard Lyman in The good woman.
Born in Brooklyn in 1929, Adler started his career behind the scenes of Broadway, working as stage director, producer and director. Over the years, he has contributed to 53 Broadway productions, including My Fair Lady and Coco, before focusing on the game on the screen.
“I got my first job when I was at the University of Syracuse, and my father, the director general of gentlemen prefers blondes, called me [because] There was an opening for an assistant stage director. I jumped school, “he revealed during his lifetime.
Adler left Broadway during his 80s crisis. He then moved to California, where he worked on television productions like the soap opera Santa Barbara.
By his own admission, “I really had a twilight of a mediocre career,” he told New York Times in 1992. He then went to work regularly in front of the camera for more than 30 years.
