The famous statue of Satoshi Nakamoto, an ingenious illusion of vision line envisaged by the Italian artist Valentina Picozzi, which was brought missing Sunday was recovered in a neighboring lake, Satoshigallery, the artistic project managed by Picozzi, in an article on X.
The gallery reported that the missing statue on August 3 with an empty photo only an empty ground where the missing stripes that fade in the code had been held since the end of 2024. The statue representing the pseudonym creator of Bitcoin was revealed on October 25, 2024 at the Bitcoin Forum de Plan B in Switzerland and Switzerland.
The flight was reported for the first time by the user of X @grittoshi, who suspected that he had been thrown into a lake next to the sculpture. Satoshigallery offered a reward of 0.1 BTC to anyone could help find the statue.
“We offer 0.1 BTC to the one who will help us recover the statue of Satoshi Nakamoto which was stolen yesterday in Lugano,” said the X Post. “You can steal our symbol but you can never fly our souls. We are all in the same footing and we are committed to placing the statue in 21 places in the world. ”
Grittoshi had suggested that the flight was an act of vandalism resulting from celebrations linked to the Swiss National Day, which fell on August 1.
“There are cameras everywhere in the city, so I suppose, they simply threw it inside the lake next to it, before returning home. No question, they could have carried it unnoticed in the city. ” Gritttoshi wrote shortly before the statue was well found in the lake.
What a pity that the statue has suffered has not yet been determined.
Picozzi has shared images on the social networks of the recovered statue, and Kintsugi style repairs can be in order. Kintsugi is Japanese art to repair broken items with a specific coating mixed with powerful precious metals such as gold, silver or platinum.
A petition asking the city of Lugano the “logistics and security support” to restore the statue was launched. Picozzi offered to do things at his expense, said the petition.
The flight occurred a little more than a week after Satoshi Gallery unveiled its third statue of Satoshi Nakamoto in Tokyo, Japan.
