The Steelers honor the beloved journalist Dale Lolley, who died at 56 years old

The organization of Pittsburgh Steelers is filled with heavy hearts this week.

The veteran journalist and writer and editor -in -chief Dale Lolley died, the team announced on Wednesday. He was 56 years old.

Lolley had already received a cancer diagnosis.

The late 1980s marked the start of what was going to become Lolley’s long career covering the NFL franchise.

Lolley has experienced relays at DK Pittsburgh Sports, Steelers Digest and other publications during his career outside competition. In 2022, he became a Steelers contributor.

“I spent more than half of my life covering the team. If I do not write about them, I talk about it. That’s what I do,” said Dale on Steelers.com in 2022. “There were hundreds of victories and defeats, many AFC championship games, super bowl stories.

Lolley also worked as a filling host during certain broadcasts on the Steelers radio network in 2008. In 2014, he was the full -time host of a program and a podcast during the week.

Lolley, a Fryburg, in Pennsylvania, originally, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in Johnstown. The university said that Lolley’s loss had left the “deeply saddened” community.
