Peshawar:
The KHYBER-PAKHTUNKHWA (KP) Terrorism Department (KP) has foiled a major terrorist land, killing a suicide bomber and its manager during an intelligence-based operation in the Shamshatoo zone in Peshawar.
According to CTD officials, the operation was carried out during a warning, preventing what could have been a significant attack on a significant installation in the province.
“A suicide bomber and its manager were killed during the raid. Both belonged to the prohibited terrorist outfit Fitna al-Khawarij,” said a spokesperson for the CTD. “They planned a high impact attack on a critical target.”
The CTD confirmed that the suicide striker had entered Pakistan in Afghanistan. Weapons, a suicide vest, a machine gunner (SMG), a pistol and explosive equipment have been recovered from the site.
The kamikaze killed was identified as being provided Ahmed Gul. The CTD said the terrorists opened fire during the raid, but no victim had been reported among the security personnel. “This successful intelligence operation has annoyed a major terrorist attack on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” the CTD added in a statement.
The ministry said that it remains vigilant against cross -border threats and militant elements that try to destabilize the province. Surveys are underway to determine if the group had local facilitators.
