It has been a whirlwind since that night when Sabathia, surrounded by family and friends, reached the goal he had dreamed since he picked up a baseball. He began to write his speech of the temple of fame, something that can be pierce the nerves for men who have experienced intense pressure during their playing careers.
Sabathia revealed to PK Press Club Digital what he hopes to pass with his words.
“I feel like I want the theme to be … I have been raised around many strong black women. And I have the impression that, without them, I could not be in this position,” said Sabathia. “I want this to be the theme of my speech. I don’t know how it will work, but that’s a bit of what I have been thinking since I was elected.

“Just all the positive black women who have been in my life who brought me to this point, whether it was my grandmother, my mother, her friends, my aunts, my wife. So, I think I want it to be the theme of my speech.”
Sabathia was opened on the women of her life, starting with her grandmother, whose backyard had a grapefruit that provided perfect training objects even if they were not baseball balls. He placed them on a folding chair to perfect his skills.
His mother Margie sacrificed for him with his father in and out of the photo to make sure that he had everything he needed to succeed. In 2019, Margie said that she used to put catcher equipment to be the other half of her son’s battery.
And his wife, Amber, his high school darling, was there at every stage when they built a family and a charity foundation off the field while he mowed the strikers on it.

Not only are strong black women a crucial element in the history of Sabathia. Black culture played a big role in the star it has become. Baseball fans know everything about the twisted hat of Sabathia, the Baggy jersey and the elegant Jordans he wore for each departure.
Since he grew up at a time when hip-hop exploded and finally played when this genre was born, in New York, Sabathia embodied the very person he dreamed of seeing a growing baseball diamond in Vallejo, California.
“I grew up in the 80s and 90s. I grew up with birth. So I was a bit high with this kind of music,” he said.
“Even the way I wore my hat; the way I wore my uniforms; wearing the Jordans; the big uniform baggy and all these different things. I just wanted to talk to the child in me. If I saw myself on the mound when I was 9 years old, I would do it [say]”I want to be like that.”
“So, that’s what it was for me when I saw Dave Stewart, when I saw Ricky Henderson, when I saw Dave Parker. The booty they played, Ricky appear his collar and all these different things. It’s two years old.” I want to be a teenager in the big leagues.

“All these different inspirations of black culture, or of the culture of hip-hop, and it has become who I am and who I was. It is good, and it is great to be this representation and to be this type and to have all these connections in this culture and in this world. It is very fun.”
Sabathia has time to perfect his speech before sharing it with the world on July 27 in Cooperstown.
Although he is sure to mention the catchers, coaches and teammates during his stay in MLB, he wants to highlight those who helped him arrive at this point and had their backs at each stage of the path.
Fight allergies with Xyzal
During his illustrious career, allergies have always been something that Sabathia was to worry about. Spring can be difficult with allergies, and Sabathia used to shoot his team’s medical staff to face it.
Now retired, the luxury of a team of doctors and staff has disappeared, and Sabathia needed to find the right drugs to fight these symptoms, especially with golf being his last sporting passion.
Xyzal, with whom he is now in partnership, was the perfect remedy.

“My allergies were horrible all my life. When I was a child, I went to school with toilet rolls,” he said, laughing. “My allergies were great, super bad. … So … I was just trying to find different things. I came across Xyzal and understood that you could take it at night.”
Now Sabathia and her 14 -year -old Carter son have been part of their night routine to make sure they can spend the baseball season without these annoying allergy symptoms.
