The Turkish consulate in collaboration with the schools and colleges of Pak-Turk Maarif organized a series of events in Karachi during Sovereigny and the day of national children, and the 105th anniversary of the opening of the Turkish National Assembly, said a statement on Saturday.
Addressing the event, the Turkish consul general in Karachi, Cemal Sangu, said that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of Modern Turkiye, decided to celebrate on April 23 as a holiday in 1924, the only universal party dedicated to children.
With the 1979 UNESCO declaration as “World Children’s Year”, this celebration is celebrated with great enthusiasm and excitement with the children of the world, he added.
