The United Nations published $ 600,000 to support rescue efforts for the sudden flood victims caused by incessant monsoon rains in Pakistan.
UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric told journalists in New York that the Pakistani authorities, supported by the UN and local partners, lead the emergency response. A United Nations team will carry out a damage assessment survey on Wednesday.

Over the past ten days, more than 400 people have been killed and 190 injured, while at least 20,000 was moved. Since the start of the 2025 monsoon season on June 26, the authorities have recorded 798 deaths and more than 1,000 injuries nationwide.
The United Nations Humanitarian Bureau (OCHA) said that people affected by floods needed shelter supply, medical assistance, liquidity for work, hygiene, clean water, education, as well as protection support, especially for women and girls.

“The authorities direct the response with the support of the United Nations and local partners,” also said the spokesperson.
Dujarric warned that the Pakistan meteorological department has planned strong precipitation more in the coming days, which makes additional floods fear.
