The UN Security Council condemns Khuzdar’s school bus attack

The United Nations Security Council strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Balutchistan, which led to the tragic death of at least seven Pakistanis, including five schoolchildren. At least 52 others, including 38 children, were injured in the attack.

In response to the attack, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police intensified security in the province’s schools.

The Ministry of Education has been officially alerted, with a directive issued to district education agents to improve security measures in all educational establishments.

In a press release, the Security Council expressed its largest condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the Pakistani government and the people. The advice also wanted rapid recovery for the injured.

The Council has reaffirmed that terrorism in all forms is a severe threat to international peace and security. He called for the responsibility of the authors, the organizers, the financiers and the sponsors of these attacks, urging the States to cooperate with Pakistan to translate the responsible parties to justice.

The declaration has reiterated that terrorism is unjustifiable, whatever the reason, and has stressed the need for all countries to fight terrorism by all available means, under international law.

The Pakistan Human Rights Committee (HRCP) also condemned the terrorist attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, qualifying it as a violation of fundamental human rights and international law.

The HRCP has stressed the need for the State to resolve questions in Balutchistan through political dialogue and legitimate measures rather than violent responses, while exhorting the identification and prosecution of the attacks of the attack.

International reactions included strong convictions from the United States and China. The United States Embassy in Islamabad expressed pain in the face of the murder of innocent children, stressing that no child should fear going to school.

The Chinese ambassador, Jiang Zaidong, also condemned the attack and reiterated the support of China to Pakistan to counter terrorism and ensure social stability.

Khuzdar school bus attack

The alleged bomber struck a vehicle loaded with explosives on the school bus while he was passing by Zero Point near the Rakhshan hotel, deputy commissioner Yashbal Dashti said, adding that the bus transported students from the public school of the army located in the Khuzdar canonical. The vehicle was rigged with more than 30 kilograms of explosives, according to the bombs elimination team.

The army media wing said that “three innocent children and two adults have adopted Shahadat” and that several children were injured in “the loose and appalling planned and orchestrated attack by the Terrorist State of India and executed by its Balutchistan attorney.

The ISPR added that India has triggered its proxies to spread terror and troubles in Balutchistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa through such odious and cowardly acts after having miserably failed on the battlefield.

Shortly after the deadly attack, the security forces completed the area and launched an investigation. Security was tightened in and around Khuzdar after the bombing, with established control points and the patrols intensified to avoid other attacks.
