Ben Christman, an offensive line of university football who was transferred to the UNLV, was found dead in his apartment outside campus, school announced in a statement on Wednesday. He was 21 years old.
Christman was recently transferred to university after playing before Kentucky and Ohio State. The school said he had no more details on his death, and the Clark County Coroner office in Nevada worked to determine the cause.

“The heart of our team is broken to hear Ben’s death,” said UNLV head coach Dan Mullen in a statement. “Since the day Ben set foot on our campus a month ago, he made rebels a better program. Ben was an easy choice for our management committee because he had gained immediate respect, admiration and friendship of all his teammates.
“Our prayers go to his family and to all those who knew him. Ben made people a better place and we will miss.”

The president of the school, Keith E. Whitfield, said that he was “incredibly saddened” to hear about the death of Christman.
“There is not much to say to reduce the pain of suddenly losing a member of our academic family to such a young age, and my heart breaks for all those who knew and loved it”, a- he said. “On behalf of the UNLV, our sincere condolences are with the family, friends, relatives and teammates of Ben during this very difficult period.”

Christman was at Ohio State for two seasons before transferring to Kentucky. He attended the 2023 season with a knee injury and played special teams in 2024, according to CBS Sports.
Christman was from Akron, Ohio, and played football in high school at the Lycée Revere. It was a four -star recruit leaving the school.
