The water grants an exemption from visa to Pakistani officials

Islamabad:

The United Arab Emirates (water) have granted an exemption from visa for holders of Pakistani diplomatic and official passports.

Vice-Prime Minister Ishaq Dar made this announcement on X on Sunday, declaring that the agreement had been concluded at its meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Water and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on June 24 in Abu Dhabi.

DAR, who also serves as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, said that at the meeting, the two fraternal countries agreed on the exemption from mutual visa for diplomatic and official passports.

A memorandum of understanding (Mou) was signed to make this agreement effective and enforceable. It has been agreed that the visa exemption would come into force 30 days after the signing of the memorandum of understanding.

“”[I] I am pleased to confirm that I was informed by the water authorities that the waiver of the visa for diplomatic and official Pakistani passports entering water was activated, as of July 25, 2025, in all water airports. “”

He also announced that a similar reciprocal installation for water citizens has also been implemented in all Pakistani airports.

According to Dar, during his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, the two parties agreed to derogations from mutual visas on diplomatic and official passports. “We both signed a memorandum of understanding to make this arrangement effective and operational after 30 days of signing the said memorandum of understanding,” he said.

Earlier this month, the Minister of the Interior of the United Arab Emirates, the LT Gen Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ensured “full support” by accelerating visas for Pakistani citizens. Al Nahyan’s statement occurred at a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart – the Minister of Interoro Mohin Naqvi.
