The water levels increase in the Jhelum river after the unexpected exit of India

India has released additional water in the Indian Jhelum river illegally occupied Jammu & Kahsmir (iiojk) without notice, which arouses concerns of the increase in water levels.

Consequently, the river is experiencing a flood -shaped situation, with a flow of 22,000 cops crossing the region of Domel de Muzaffarabad.

Local authorities have issued a warning to citizens, advising them to stay far from the Jhelum river due to the growing risk of flooding.

This development comes shortly after a tragic incident in the Iiojk Pahalgam district, where 26 people were killed and more than a dozen other injured during a shooting on a popular tourist site.

Following Pahalgam’s attack, the Hindu Nationalist Government of India, without conducting any investigation, blamed Pakistan for the incident and unilaterally announced the suspension of the Industry Water Treaty, which was negotiated by the World Bank in 1960 to govern the river waters’ sharing between the two countries.

Pakistan quickly rejected India’s unilateral decision to suspend the Industry Water Treaty, describing it as a violation of the agreement.

The Pakistan National Security Committee has published a solid statement, saying that water is an essential national interest and the rescue buoy of more than 240 million Pakistani.

The Committee stressed that any attempt to block or divert the flow of water from Pakistan would be considered an act of war, and Pakistan will protect its water resources at all costs.
