The authorities of the United Arab Emirates (water) arrested 10 Pakistani nationals, including five women, accused of begging, according to officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Pakistan.
The detainees, who were detained during separate operations through the United Arab Emirates, have been transferred to local prisons and should be expelled to Pakistan in the coming days. Officials confirmed that emergency passports were already prepared for their return.
The 10 people were reportedly captured during begging in various places and are currently in detention. “They will be arrested upon arrival in Pakistan, and legal action will be initiated,” said FIA officials.
The arrests are involved in a meticulous examination of the authorities of the Gulf of undocumented or illegal activity by foreign nationals, including those who abuse visas of visit or engaged in rackets of begging. The Pakistani authorities say they work in close collaboration with the water to ensure that the expulsion process takes place gently.
