Rawalpindi:

The Rawalpindi National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a reference to corruption worth 998.86 million rupees against the widow of the former divisional vice-president of the People’s Party (PPP), Haji Gulzar Awan.

The late PPP chief, who died four years ago, had previously founded the Pakistan Aman party, which was then merged into the PPP.

Nab accused his widow, Azra Gulzar Awan, of being involved in a scam of the housing program alongside his late husband.

According to the survey, the couple attracted citizens to buy low -cost plots in two housing companies, pocket millions of people in the process.

Several complainants, including Amir Mukhtan and others, have deposited petitions against them, which prompted Nab to act.

The reference to corruption was filed by a Rawalpindi court of responsibility, and a meticulous examination is set for Monday.

Following this, the case will be presented before judge Muhammad Akmal Khan, and the assignments should be issued.

Azra Gulzar Awan, however, denied allegations, saying that she had no involvement in her husband’s trade relations.

“I am a housewife. I have never interfered in my husband’s affairs, and I have not visited any office or treaty with land transactions. I was falsely involved,” she said. She also questioned the calendar of the case, stressing that the years have passed since the death of her husband, and it was only this alleged corruption has now been revealed.
