The winner of the US Open JJ Spaun says he should thank Viktor Hovland with a bottle of wine

JJ SPAUN is not afraid to admit that he has obtained a little help on his putt open in the United States.

Associated with Viktor Hovland during the final round, Spaun and Hovland won their approach shots on the 18th by five to a few of each other.

At that time, Hovland was pretty much out of the race, but Spaun needed two putts to win his first major.

Hovland was absent and missed his putt. Spaun had practically an identical line, and he emptied it at 64 feet.

Of course, Spaun’s probability of winning the tournament on this green was relatively high, and perhaps he did not need Hovland’s help at all. But Spaun admitted his plans to give a refund to Hovland.

“I have to give him a beautiful bottle of wine or something like that, everything he wants,” Spaun told “The Dan Patrick Show”.

“It was a good teaching, and I think it is only one of the things that must go in your direction to win not only a championship but a major championship, and I am just happy to have capitalized on this little advantage.”

Spaun fired 66-72-69-72 to end his week as the only player under by Oakmont.

Oakmont was as announced this week, with some of the best in the game like Rory McILroy, Shane Lowry and even more, who has trouble finding answers for her difficult green vegetables, his thick raws and the pouring rain that fell on Sunday certainly did not help things for those who argue for the championship.

The most difficult golf test this year, was tamed by Spaun on Thursday when he left as a field leader after 18 holes, pulling a 46-66. He returned on Friday and did not see the same results, going 2, but he certainly had not come out.

After publishing a 1-Under on Saturday, Spaun knew he was able to run to his very first major, but the beginning of Sunday was not at all what he had in mind.

Spaun had five bogeys in his first six holes, while he was starting to tumble the ranking. In the past, Spaun said he would be discouraged by this type of performance, but while fearing his Sunday ship, a weather delay ended the game.

When he returned to the course, another Spaun appeared. The nine from the back were really his own, pulling by the first two holes before the hole in the bird 12, then the hole 14 to spend his turn to 3 by day.

At this point, several players were in hunting, separated by a shot, if they are not linked to the ranking. Spaun gave one with one in 15 bogey, but he was money on hole 17 and 18 with consecutive birdies to seal the victory.

While his putt out of 18 was simply incredible, Spaun’s trip out of 17 landed perfectly less than green, and he rolled for an eagle chance. As this putt was missing, he would bury his next more than three feet with a chance to win on 18.

Spaun also finished his Fathers Day with his daughters Emerson and Violet, as well as his wife Melody, with a celebration in the 18th green.
