London: Three key members of the super League champions (PSL) Lahore Qalandars are ready to lock horns in Australia – but this time, as adversaries that the Big Bash League (BBL) is preparing for another fascinating season later this year.
The Pakistan and the Bowling Duo of Bowling Fiery Prierry Fiery Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, as well as the dynamic drummer of the dynamic Kent, Sam Billings, were all signed by different BBL franchises.
The trio, which played hinged roles in the recent triumph of Lahore Qalandars in the 10th edition of the Pakistani Super League, as well as to help them become Champions in 2023, will now test their courage against each other in the Australian T20 League in High Octane.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, who led Lahore Qalandars to their third defending victory in the PSL and has therefore become the most successful captain in the history of the tournament, should make his BBL debut with Brisbane Heat.
Rauf returns to the stars of Melbourne, while Billings will again put on the green of Sydney Thunder.
During the recent tour of the British Qalandars British trophy celebrating their last PSL victory, Shaheen Afridi and Sam Billings were impatient to compete against each other.
While addressing PK Press Club News, Shaheen Afridi shared his enthusiasm at the idea of joining Brisbane Heat and playing in the emblematic Gabba.
“I hope I appreciate my time with Brisbane Heat,” said Shaheen. “The special thing about Gabba is that fast quisors love to play it. I have played a few games there in the past and I had a good success. So, I hope that with the team and the direction, I will have wonderful moments and I can’t wait to perform well for them.”
Asked about the prospect of facing his teammate and his colleague Speedster Haris Rauf in the BBL, Shaheen replied with a malicious smile:
“I hope he [Haris Rauf] Do not dare to play against me. If he does it, I will hit him for a lot of six! »»
On the other hand, Sam Billings, who built a strong camaraderie with Shaheen and Haris during his stay in Lahore Qalandars, was also enthusiastic by the next competitions.
“Well, I can’t wait to face Shaheen Afridi,” Billings told PK Press Club. “He is a quality artist, one of the best quenches in the world, but I can’t wait to have good battles against him. But he is my brother.”
Billings also praised the growing influence of Pakistani talents in the T20 international leagues.
“Shadab [Khan] is also there in my team. Thus, the real Pakistani influence, which is fantastic. I mean, the talent in Pakistan for cricket is phenomenal. And it’s just great to see these individuals get the recognition they deserve. »»
As the BBL is getting closer, fans can impatiently await attractive clashes – especially when these rivals of Qalandars that have become the ground. Whether Shaheen steamed in Billings or Haris with his captain, the tournament promises intense competition and a celebration of cricket camaraderie.
