The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) is the last state sports organization to capitulate the recent decree of President Donald Trump preventing Trans athletes from participating in the sports of girls.
The WIAA announced on Wednesday that an update of its policies which indicated that only athletes “designated as women at birth” would be authorized to participate in the sports of girls.
“Today, the WIAA Control Council voted to update the organization’s policy concerning the eligibility for student -athletes – assert its compliance with federal directives that only students designated as women at birth will be Authorized to participate in girls’ competitions, “said WIAA executive director Stephanie Hauser. “Working in consultation with a legal advisor, our board of directors has updated this policy to ensure that clarity is provided to our members while they are working to comply with the new federal guests of the White House.”

The new Wisconsin policy reflects that of NCAA, because it still allows organic athletes to participate in girls’ practices, but not in official competitions.
The state had enabled the participation of transgender athletes in sports for girls since 2013.
Last April, the Governor of Wisconsin, Tony Evers, opposed his veto to a bill that would have prohibited transgender high school athletes from participating in the girls’ sports teams.
