- The Xiaomi 17 series has been unveiled, the pro models having two screens
- The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max has a huge battery of 7,500 mAh
- The three phones have a snapdragon 8 elite gen 5 chipset
Hot on the tables of its MID -range launch Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro, Xiaomi has just announced its new flagship products in the form of the Xiaomi 17 series, and these phones have a lot of catchy specifications.
The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is the Top Model, and the most interesting, with this one and the Xiaomi 17 Pro having a second screen on the back, which looks a bit like a smaller version of the cover screen on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7.
This second screen can be used to supervise selfies taken with the rear cameras, display widgets from applications and even play games – if it is associated with an official boy type case.
In the case of the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, it is a 2.9 -inch screen, while the Xiaomi 17 Pro has a 2.7 -inch 2, and they both have a 120 Hz refreshment rate.
As for their main displays, the Xiaomi 17 Pro has a 6.3 inch 6.3 and the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max has a 6.9 inch 6.9 inches, and both have a 120 Hz refresh rate again.
Massive batteries and high -end chipsets
Another highlight of these phones is their battery capacity, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max having a frankly ridiculous capacity of 7,500 mAh, and the Xiaomi 17 pro having a battery of 6300 mAh. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has only 5,000 mAh battery and the iPhone 17 Pro Max has a 5,088mAh (or 4,832mAh outside the United States).
The two phones charge 100W – or 50W if you use a wireless load, and both have a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which is the brand new Qualcomm flagship chipset, and should make these handsets more powerful than all Android phones currently available.
They also have a trio of 50 Mp cameras at the rear, including large, ultra-large and 5x telephoto lens options, as well as a 50 MP camera at the front. In addition, there are up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage in both phones.
Base Xiaomi 17 is a little less interesting because it has no second screen, but you always get a 6.3 -inch main screen, a Triple Objective 50MP camera, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and a huge 7,000 mAh battery.
These phones have so far been launched until China, but we expect one or more of them to land in Europe at the start of next year – although an American release is very improbable, because Xiaomi does not have much presence there.
