Friday, Cole underwent tests and imagery on this right elbow, and he is currently looking for second opinions on this subject, which is never a good sign.

“We will see how it goes,” he added. “I am always wired to think of the worst and hope the best.
Gerrit Cole des Yankees will undergo diagnostic tests on the pitching elbow after pain: report
“Obviously, not what you want, but that is finally part of our trip here in 2025.”
Another key piece on the list, Giancarlo Stanton, is also confronted with injuries in the elbow, while trying to avoid end -of -season surgery on his “severe” tennis elbow in both arms.
There is currently no calendar for the star of the 2024 playoff series, which noted that the adjustments he had brought to his bat last season could be the cause of tendonitis in both elbows.
As for Cole, the scenario of the worst case obvious when it involves a jet elbow for a launcher is an injury to the UCL, which generally leads to Tommy John surgery – a procedure that makes a player for the year.

It would be an overwhelming blow for the Yankees given what Cole means for the team in terms of his tour of the World Series revenge in 2025.
Cole also treated an elbow injury in 2024 which closed it a little in the spring before returning to the bump in the regular season. Cashman added that Cole’s concern, which he recognized on Saturday is not something new because of the way he was managed last season.
“I was with him in Tampa. I think last year, [it was] very emotional [for Cole] Because it was a whole new experience, “said Cashman.” This year now, not as emotional because it has already worked this line. And so, I think he is mentally ready to face it because he has already treated it once before. So, and it’s even the worst case. In general, we are all in a better position to manage something if we have had some experience by manipulating it in the past.
How the Yankees can avoid leaving the injury of Giancarlo Stanton derail their season
“He has already had a lot of conversations. A lot of commitment with doctors and lived last year.”
Cole, however, was not closed throughout the season. Thus, while Cashman says that the worst case is prepared, which knows what is happening if and when it becomes reality.
Cashman added that it would be “difficult” to make possible movements at this stage of the year to counter these big injuries, which includes 2024 al recruit of the year, Luis Gil suffering from a high quality LAT strain which closed it until the least June.
In turn, Marcus Stroman should replace Gil, while Warren and Carlos “Cookie” Carrasco are potential replacements if Cole is unable to go to any title.
