While the speech entered social media, the former Penn State star was not satisfied with what university football became.
“University football a joke now! You are well in the meantime, made from the university in a semi-pro league! In fact, hold the players responsible for the contracts they sign!” He wrote on X.
He then responded to another person on X who said that university football had always been a semi-pro league and that the players were paid illegally.
“Nah College has never been a question of money! The college is to build the character!” Parsons wrote. “I am the man I am today because of the brotherhood and the incredible coaches that I had during my stay in Penn State!

Iamaleava is only the tip of the iceberg of what could happen in university athletics as soon as possible.
SEC commissioner, Greg Sankey, ACC commissioner, Jim Phillips, Commissioner Big 12 Brett Yormmark and Commissioner Big Tony Petitti were in Capitol Hill last week to put pressure on the congress to obtain aid for zero legislation in university athletics.

Yormark told Bret Baier on “Special Report” Thursday that “we need help from the congress”.
“From where I sit today, federal pre-emption, having a standardized platform that supervises and void is of crucial importance,” said Yormark. “Today, 34 states see it very differently, and it is relatively unruly.”

“The volume of laws adopted at the state level makes us really difficult for us to regulate and compete at the national level,” added the commissioner of Big Tony Petitti. Whenever someone does not like a decision, or something comes from the NCAA, we find ourselves in dispute. These rules are then aggregated and we are back at the start.
“We hope that the combination of what we have done in the regulations will give us an opportunity, with the help of Congress, to really put a system in a place that has a certain stability.
“We have gone through the bridge to be willing to provide income … but we must have a certain structure. We cannot have a system that has a complete unregulated movement.”
