- ExpressVPN adds a new “themes” feature to its mobile applications for visual customization
- Black mode is now available for all iOS users for the first time
- The update follows the main overhaul of Mobile ExpressVPN applications
ExpressVPN has unveiled a new themes feature so that its mobile applications give users more flexibility in the appearance and feeling of the interface.
More specifically, one of the best VPN suppliers on the market has finally provided full support for “highly anticipated” dark mode to iOS devices.
The update, which follows May’s overhaul of Mobile Applications of ExpressVPN, reflects a subtle change in the way in which the VPN suppliers approach the design – going beyond the pure function to meet the expectations of users around comfort and personalization, without compromising the main privacy experience.
More than cosmetics
Dark fashion Was a coherent demand among Mobile ExpressVPN users, offering a more comfortable visualization experience and potential battery savings for phones with OLED screens.
The company says that it wanted to take the time to deploy this correctly on the platforms, guaranteeing a transparent visual experience which does not compromise conviviality.
For iOS users, the introduction of the Dark mode marks a notable step, filling a functionality gap that had persisted compared to Android.
You can now find the dark mode under the new twilight mode in the appearance tab in the account settings.
Beyond the twilight, the new Themes The interface also includes defect modes of sand, midnight, sky and system. As with dark mode, you can choose your favorite by heading to the appearance tab in the account settings of your mobile application and customize your application.
Despite a small change, the personalization of the interface is particularly important for applications such as virtual private networks (VPN) which are open several times a day.
Commenting on this point, the information director of ExpressVPN, Shay Peretz Said: “Security and style can – and should – go hand in hand. We remain attached to the two, private life continuing to be our absolute priority.”
As mentioned earlier, the introduction of themes follows May’s overhaul of ExpressVPN mobile applications, which included improvements such as a brand new speed test tool, design and use upgrades, a server location card, etc.
What it means for ExpressVPN users
Deployment is perhaps not the title in the traditional sense, but it highlights a subtle change: even among the applications focused on security, the user experience is no longer secondary.
With the increasingly common VPN use, especially on mobiles, updates such as themes help to fill the gap between function and form.
Whether you change servers, check your connection or operate in the background, a comfortable and customizable interface makes these daily interactions more fluid. And for users who were waiting for the dark mode on iOS, the wait is finally over.
