- Doctor Who The primary dynamics of season 2 will differ wildly from the partnership of last season
- The friendship of the doctor with the new companion Bel will not be the same as the one he appreciated with Ruby
- Ncuti Gatwa and Verada Sethu explained why things will not always be pink between their characters
Doctor WhoThe main distribution revealed how the last companion of the titular character Bel differs from his predecessor Ruby Sunday.
Addressing Techradar, Ncuti Gatwa and Verada Sethu, who play Doctor and Bel, explained that the dynamics of the pair were sort of at a difficult start in the second season of Disney + Show.
Compared to the immediately harmonious relationship that the 15th doctor of Gatwa appreciated with Ruby – who will come back to a certain extent this season – this is a freezing start for what will be a spicy marriage of convenience style.
Indeed, while the duo learns to become a “really strong team” as the last episode of the series progresses, the deeply rooted self of Bel also means that the Time Lord holder will have his hands full with her Doctor Who Season 2. You know, when he is not dealing with all kinds of larger planetary and universal threats.
“Bel has such a strong feeling of self and your own values,” Sethu told me. “I love that she already has and has so many things in her own life that she feels responsible. As an infirmer, she is a caring and altruistic person, so she wants to start the person she was before meeting the doctor. She has no interest in floating in space and time with this guy!”
“”[In the 2023 Christmas special]Ruby did not think twice before jumping on the scale of the goblin ship, “prohibits Gatwa.” She wanted to go on this adventure and be part of the doctor’s world.
“Bel was torn from her own world and placed in hers, so there is no interest on his part to follow in the footsteps of Ruby,” he continued. “So what must train is a real partnership built on an equality and maturity inherent between the doctor and the beautiful. It understands the weight of responsibility, the loss and the difficulties of life in general. But, at the end of the first episode of this season, it is also well aware that the doctor is a very dangerous man.”
She holds him responsible for many things

“She holds him responsible for many things,” added Sethu. “He is not surrounded by yes, people as he could have been before. Now he travels with someone who will say” no, it’s absolutely not good “.
“But, they are able to grow together because they are able to fill the shortcomings where the other fails. They become a really strong team which has a great sense of confidence and platonic love, which develops throughout the season.”
