Apple has just announced its App Store Awards for 2025, with a selection of the best apps nominated in various categories. Top-rated apps have been selected for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision Pro, Apple Watch and Apple TV, and the announcement follows Google’s Play Store 2025 awards, which were revealed yesterday.
In total, Apple selected three winners in each category, and the winners spanned music creation, productivity, image editing, academia and much more. Here, we’ve rounded up all the best apps that have been given the green light by Apple – read on to see if your favorites made the cut.
Finalists for iPhone App of the Year
Considered the top three iPhone apps in the world, winners include Tape Labdesigned to help musicians create songs and share them with a thriving community.
Laddermeanwhile, aims to bring you new bodybuilding workouts that offer you something new every week. To complete the category, Tiimowhich leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to help you plan your time, stay organized, and balance your mental load.
iPad App of the Year Finalists
AI was a recurring theme in App Store pricing, as evidenced by Detail. This video editing app puts AI to good use with automatic edits and a conversational interface that lets you explain your desired outcome to the AI.
The second iPad winner was Touch the grain (above), an art app that reproduces the “soul of print” in a digital format through the use of realistic inks, brushes and materials. The final runner-up for the iPad app was Structurea productivity planner with an incredibly intuitive interface that helps you stay in control of your day.
Mac App of the Year Finalists
With its large screens and powerful hardware, the Mac is a great place to edit photos – and Glans (above) takes advantage of this with its professional-grade tools and non-destructive editing effects, making it one of the best Mac apps of 2025.
He was joined by Essayista writing application expertly tailored to the needs of academia with its automatic formatting, powerful reference manager, support for the most common citation styles, and much more.
And if you need a helping hand keeping your home organized and tidy, Under my roof is the app you need. It tracks renovations and repairs, keeps your vital documents and inventories your belongings.
Finalists for Apple Vision Pro App of the Year
If you stream and record video on Apple’s Vision Pro headset, Camouflage studio can help you with its scene controls, layering, simple sharing interface and powerful editing effects.
Elsewhere, interactive documentary D-Day: the camera soldier was recognized for its immersive depiction of the Normandy landings through the eyes of a combat cameraman. And Explore the point of view takes you around the world in a series of immersive videos, from the stunning lagoons of French Polynesia to Arctic landscapes illuminated by the midnight sun.
Finalists for Apple Watch App of the Year
GO-Club bills itself as a step counter, and Apple has recognized it for its ability to keep you both active and hydrated with its smart, gentle water reminders, beautiful aesthetic, and crystal-clear layout.
You may not need to take photos from your Apple Watch very often, but when you do, Professional camera at times is here to help thanks in large part to its well-proportioned buttons and selection of useful tools. And the third on the list is Stravaan application that requires little introduction. Apple presents it as a place for the global fitness community to share goals, tips and milestones.
Finalists for Apple TV App of the Year
Looking for something awesome to watch? THE HBO Max The app is a good place to start, having been cited as one of the best Apple TV apps of 2025 by Apple, with the company praising its quality series and focus on accessibility.
For children, there is PBS CHILDREN videowhich offers a wealth of kid-friendly programming and entertainment, allowing parents to relax knowing their little ones will be happy.
The Apple TV isn’t just for apps, as demonstrated Super Farm Boy 4Kwho also won in this category. This game is a mix of action, puzzle and adventure, brought together by farming simulation elements for an enjoyable experience for the whole family.
