- The best iPhone 17 models could get an 8x optical zoom
- An additional camera button could also be added
- Apple works on a pro camera application
If Apple sticks to its usual schedule, we are less than two months before launching iPhone 17 models, and it seems that the pro and pro max models are online to obtain three key upgrades linked to cameras and photography.
According to an anonymous forecaster who contacted MacRumors, the first upgrade will be an 8x optical zoom jump, which would be from the 5x optical zoom that you can find in the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Second, there will be apparently a second camera control button on the opposite side to the current camera order on the iPhone 16 models – which is on the right side of the handsets if you hold them in portrait mode.
The original camera control button allows you to open the camera application and modify a variety of settings to take photos, including exposure and tone. Apparently, the new button “will complete” the one existing with its own choice of parameters.
A new camera application?
Finally, the third prediction predicted by this prediction is a new “Apple Camera” application for photos and videos. It is not clear if it would be an exclusive iPhone 17 Pro Max – it could also be made available for other iPhones.
The new application would face Halide and Filmic Pro, available on the App Store. The predictioner says that this application can happen as an update of the final camera application that Apple has already created, although it is likely preinstalled.
We do not know anything about this prediction, so of course, take these rumors with a grain of salt. The information comes from an advertisement which is filmed for Apple – and which will be used to show the major new features of this year.
If all this is correct, it would be one of the most important iPhone cameras for some time, and the 8K video could also be included. We also expect the Pro and Pro Max models to also get a significant design refreshment.
