The best stereo speakers seem fantastic but often overwhelmed in the visual department; I know that I would be pushed hard to choose my library speakers in a program, and I am a work musician. It is therefore always a joy to see speakers as beautiful as they are intended to ring-like the Straton Acoustics Element 6 and Element 8 speakers.
These are not budget purchases, with price labels of £ 15,000 / $ 20,000 (approximately $ 31,385 in) for element £ £ 20,000 / 25,000 (approximately $ 41,850 in) for element £ 8 and £ 3,500 / 5,000 (around $ 7,323 in) for the stands. But just look to them. If I had the wealth to buy them for my mansion, I would absolutely do it. If I had a mansion.
Straton Acoustics Element 6 and Element 8: Not just a feast for the eyes
The star here, apart from these enclosures, is the clean, the culled cups and the wave guides loaded 29 mm from Tweeter Soft Dome. This is associated with a medium / low six -inch driver in element 6 and an eight -inch unit in element 8, which makes element 6 more suitable for smaller spaces or listening positions in the near field.
The speakers have double resistance port vents to reduce the unwanted resonance of the low reflex port, and they are made with polymer matrices reinforced by acrylic -silice – again with alleged resonance reduction powers – and aerospace quality aluminum advantages.
According to Stratton, the combination of speakers and baffles “ensures its own and transparent sound with a luxurious and durable finish which will last for decades to come”.
As for the stands, they are also precision machines from aerospace quality aluminum. And Stratton makes major claims for their design: “Their sculptural shape reflects the details of the jewelry of the front and rear of the speakers, with an impeccable finish which plays with light and reflection to a striking effect, raising the whole system in terms of modern art.”
Stratton says that these speakers “offer a visually striking presence, premium materials, high-level classic electro-acoustic design and engineering, offering a luxurious experience for eyes and ears”. I am sure they do it, although unfortunately I think it will be very long before I can afford a pair.
The new Stratton Acoustics 6 and Element 8 elements are now available.
