- The load box can also charge your phone
- Distinctive hinge design
- £ 179.99 (approximately $ 227 / $ 365 in)
The new HMD loose buds are very different from your average headphones: the buds themselves have a very distinctive hinge design instead of the AirPods style of so many headphones. And their charge case looks more like an electricity bank than a case of headphones – because that is exactly what it is.
The charging box is also a Qi2 wireless power bank with a 1,600 mAh battery, and it is a very strong battery for a case – if strong in fact that if you only use it to load your headphones, you can expect almost 100 hours of play before having to hunt a USB -C charger.
To clarify, 1,600mAh is not as large as the battery that you will get in a dedicated food bank – they tend to come in multiples of 10,000 mAh – but it is enough to load an iPhone 16 pro at around 20%, so always quite useful if you are dangerously low on the juice.
HMD AMPED BUDS: Key characteristics and price
The lifespan of the cited battery is 95 hours, but as always, it is with ANC: put the cancellation of the noise and you can expect still impressive 58 hours. The buds take place in themselves for 8.1 hours without anc and 4.9 hours with.
Of course, regardless of the duration of the battery if your headphones do not sound well. But the pilots here are 10 mm, so they should be quite impactful, and the buds take care of the Snapdragon sound; There are also three microphones for light voice calls and to shout for your chosen virtual assistant.
Bluetooth is 5.4 with quick torque, and on Android, there is a care to find my device. They are classified IP54 for resistance to dust and water and you can choose from black, cyan or pink.
We do not yet have the news of an American launch or price, but the HMD Amped Buds will cost £ 179.99 in the United Kingdom and € 199.99 in Europe. The British launch will be “very soon,” said HMD.
