- The adorable BDX Star Wars droids landed in Disney World
- All the droids will be in Florida until August 30, 2025
- Disney exchanged components on droids to let them resist the weather conditions better, including higher heat environments
For the faithful of Star Wars and Disney Parks, another happy landing occurred. The just as adorable and impressive BDX droids arrived in Galaxy’s Edge at Disney World Hollywood studios in Orlando, Florida. This means that you may not have to travel until the end of the droids you are looking for.
Disney first launched that BDX droids are developing beyond the appearance in Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland in California in Sxsw 2025 during the “Future of World Construction in Disney” panel. Disney World was then confirmed, alongside Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disney Resort, but BDX droids began to appear today, July 16, 2025, in Florida.
Disney confirmed that BDX droids will be in Disney World until August 30, 2025 and will appear seven times a day, from Tuesday to Saturday. You will spot them these days at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Speaking earlier this year in Techradar, Moritz Bächer, deputy laboratory director of the robotics team based in Zurich, also known as the man behind the droids, told us a little about the preparation to bring these robots similar to a duck to more parks, and therefore to various climates.
BDX droids now have crushed components instead of 3D printed parts to better resist the warm heat of Florida. For example, it is a summit of 91 degrees Fahrenheit in Orlando today with more than 60% humidity. With an advanced modeling also, Bächer and the Disney Imagineering team worked to teach DX Droids of walking on different grounds and other movements, which probably allows Disney Live Entertainment Program Experiences for the Robots.

As you can suspect, the lucky parkgists of Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World have been fairly delighted to see the Droptids BDX out, some even on social networks. We have also learned what is happening if they meet rain – BDX droids are covered in what looks like plastic bags and rain resistant. You can see it in the clip below.
It is worth trying to catch one of the shows, because BDX droids are always a relatively rare show since they started to appear in late 2023 in Disneyland. Obviously, however, Disney Imagineering continues to push the limits in the field of robotics, at the end of technology to build more immersive stories and experiences.
The arrival of BDX Droids in Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World occurs a day before the brand new Walt Disney Animatronic opens to the public in `Walt Disney – a magical life ” in Disneyland in California, and you can see our overview of this attraction – and animatronic – here.
