Think making coffee with fresh beans is too complicated? The new Philips Baristina might just change your mind thanks to its “one touch” system

  • The Philips Baristina is a new compact espresso machine
  • It claims to brew coffee from beans in one minute with “one shot.”
  • It should be much easier to maintain than a traditional automatic coffee maker

Philips has launched a new coffee maker that promises to brew authentic espresso from fresh beans with the speed and convenience of coffee pods, but without the expense.

According to the company, the Baristina will prepare your drink “with a simple movement of the portafilter handle.” I haven’t seen it in action yet, but judging from the description and photos shown, it appears that it functions similarly to a bean-to-cup coffee maker, but without having to disassemble the machine to clean the brew group and empty the used grounds bin.
