Thirteen terrorists killed in an IED error

At least thirteen terrorists were killed when explosives stored in one of their hiding places in the district of Bannu de Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) left on Sunday. In a separate incident, another terrorist was eliminated during a firearm battle at Dera Ismail Khan.

According to local sources, Siddiqulah Gurbaz, commander of the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group from Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), had seized the Jirga room of former provincial minister PTI Shah Muhammad Wazir and had transformed it into a military base in the Bakakhel of Bannu region.

The terrorists assembled improvised explosive devices (IED) on the site when the explosives exploded, leading to the death of thirteen people, including Gurbaz. A large cache of IED, grenades, rocket launchers and other explosives had been stored in the compound.

Separately. A terrorist was killed in an exchange of fire between security forces and activists in the Khowi Bahara region, on the outskirts of Dera Ismail Khan.

Security sources have said that the battle for firearms had taken place in the jurisdiction of the Khowi Bahara police station.

The deceased terrorist was then identified as Zeeshan, son of Ghazi. Zeeshan was involved in several incidents in the regions of Jhangi Chowki and Lakhani of Punjab and had become a symbol of fear in the region.

On Saturday, at least 45 terrorists were killed in operations to combat terrorism in various tribal KP districts in which 19 soldiers were also martyred. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Head Gen Asim Munnir then attended the funeral prayers for martyred soldiers.
