- The Ge Profile Smart Grind & Brew is a drip coffee maker with an AI assistant

How much can a filter coffee machine really be really? Very intelligent indeed, it turns out. GE Profile (the Premium Division of GE devices) has just launched the Smart Grind & Brew – A drip machine that uses Google Cloud AI to help you prepare the perfect cup every morning.
The GE Profile Smart Grind & Brew is a thin machine with an integrated conical slum crusher, which means that you can taste a freshly earthly coffee without investing (and finding space for) two household appliances. It also minimizes the potential mess because the ground coffee falls directly into the infusion basket at the right dosage, without weighing or transfer.
The machine also has an integrated water filter, so you can use water directly from the tap without affecting the flavor of your drink and helping you have a more consistent taste.
Another particularly pleasant feature is the inclusion of a removable brewing support (the part that contains the jug or the cup) so that the machine can provide coffee directly in a travel cup. Combined with the integrated timer, this would facilitate the having a fresh filter coffee to work, minimizing the risk of giving in to temptation and buying take -out coffee.
Which really makes the Smart Grind & Brew different from the best drust coffee makers that we have tested, however, it is the Smarthq AI coffee assistant, who must be deployed on the machine with a software update very soon .
This allows you to control the machine remotely using the Smarthq Smart Home application and to have a “conversational intermediary experience” with the assistant. It also allows you to create personalized profiles, to receive real -time brewing comments and “is equipped with an intuitive learning that automatically adjusts brewing according to the questions asked”.
Smarthq will also allow you to add your coffee maker to your Amazon Alexa or Google Home Smart Hub, so that you can make it work with voice commands.
So far, so intelligent
All this seems very impressive, and the GE Profile Smart Grind & Brew is available for purchase on Amazon for $ 379 (about £ 300 /600 in), which seems typical of a coffee drop -on coffee machine .
Is there a catch? Well, although it has an isolated carafe, the GE profile does not mention the machine having a heating plate to keep your coffee infused warm until you are ready for your next cup. This is the same problem that I found with another high -tech machine that I tested recently: the Aiden Precision drip coffee maker. Although the Aiden can prepare an excellent drink, his double -walled isolated carafe did not keep it warm long without a source of heat below.
Hopefully this will not be so much a problem with the smart Grind & Brew, which (unlike the Aiden) is capable of providing coffee in other ships, such as an isolated bottle, which will maintain it at a time temperature longer .
