- The DX5 II Topping has a double DAC design with a three -step amplification
- Bluetooth 5.1 with LDAC and APTX Adaptive / HD
- $ 299 / £ 299-now available in the United States, in July 2025 in the United Kingdom
The new Topping office DAC is surprisingly affordable for its specifications: the price of the list is only $ 299 / £ 299. It is a DAC, a high resolution preamplifier, a helmet amplifier designed for double tasks such as an autonomous desktop amplifier or as part of a component Hi-Fi system.
The DX5 II is the successor to the very acclaimed DX5 of Topping, and it is built around two DAC ES9039Q2M chips of the 32 -bit Saber Ess Ess Technology saber range. A chip is dedicated to the left canal and the other on the right; Since ES9039Q2M is a two -channel DAC chip, this means that there can be two differential signals per channel, which, according to the garnish, means a lower noise, an improved canals and better clarity.
Topping DX5 II: Key features
The DX5 II supports 32 -bit / 768 kHz PCM data on USB (24 bits / 192 kHz via coaxial and optical inputs) and DSD at 22.5792 MHz (DSD512). It also supports DOP (DSD on PCM).
There is a new 32 -bit xmos chip and 16 cores for USB data and a high performance pilot for Windows; Other platforms do not require a pilot. And there is Bluetooth 5.1 with LDAC and APTX adaptive up to 24 bits / 96 kHz and Aptx HD up to 24 bits / 48 kHz. The Bluetooth module also supports a low latency, an APTX, AAC and SBC.
There are three high resolution – USB, coaxial and optical digital inputs – a 12V trigger in / out and three out out: balanced XLR, balanced 4.4 mm and 6.35 mm to one asleep.
And the headphones are powered by the new topping X-Hybrid helmet amplifier, which is a fully balanced four-channel design which is based on composite nested composite architecture (NFCA) with a three-step design: input, step and output of OP-OP amplifications.
Topping indicates that it is powerful enough to drive even difficult planar magnetic headphones, with an output power of 2x 7,600 MW in 16 ohms, 2x 6,400 mW in 32 ohms and 2x 990mw in 300 ohms through its balanced outings.
The DX5 II DAC / helmet amplifier will be available in the United Kingdom in July in a choice of black, white or silver, and is already available online in the United States.
