- FEVM FA65G Mini PC with Ryzen 9800x3d reaches 95 degrees under maximum thermal stress
- System noise peaks at 47 decibels when the processor and the GPU are underlined
- The chassis closely reflects Apple’s Mac studio but hides office class equipment
The Chinese seller FEVM introduced the FA65G Mini PC, a 2.5 -liter system built inside a chassis which strongly resembles the Apple Mac studio.
The case measures 167.5 x 167.5 x 96 mm and weighs 1.85 kilograms, while inside is a mini-ITX motherboard based on personalized B650 with an AM5 socket.
The unusual design allows the installation of a 9000x3d Ryzen processor alongside discreet graphics in MXM form, creating a device that combines the power of the workstation with a compact imprint.
Hardware configuration and upgrade options
Current construction focuses on the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which FEVM operates between 65 and 100 watts depending on the configuration.
Although it is marketed as one of the best processor choices for this form factor, the thermals reach 95 degrees Celsius in demanding tests, a level always in tolerance but close to the limit.
According to the company, high -end processors such as the Ryzen 9 9900X3D or even the 9950x3D can also be installed, although these improvements are faced with the same thermal limits.
On the graphic side, FEVM has adapted rare MXM cards, including RTX 4080 LP and RTX 5000 ADA.
The company includes a personalized cooling system with four heat strings and two fans. An external adapter of 330 watts fuels these GPUs.
The tests show the RTX 4080 LP operating near a RTX 3080 or RTX 4070 office, while passing in front of an RTX 5060 Ti.
With these results, FEVM positions the equipment as offering one of the best GPUs currently possible in such a small speaker.
The FA65G provides two M.2 2280 locations with a 4.0 x4 PCIe capacity and up to 128 gigabytes of RAM DDR5-6400 through two SODM locations.
These, as well as the Wi-Fi module, are accessible by removing the lower cover.
The selection of ports looks like that of a Mac studio, offering USB4, USB-A 3.2 Gen, Dual HDMI 2.1 ports, Doud Displayport, two NIC 2.5gbe and USB-C and USB 2.0 connections.
The stress tests show the Ryzen 9800x3d processor attached to 86 degrees Celsius at 90 Watts, climbing to 95 degrees when they are fixed at 100 Watts.
System noise measures between 41 and 47.3 decibels depending on the load, while the GPU works a little fresher, culminating at 74.3 degrees.
In a more typical use of games, FEVM processor temperatures remain closer to 80 degrees, the GPU remaining below 70.
Currently, no confirmed price or exit calendar exists, but given the rarity of MXM GPUs, the configuration with a Ryzen 9800x3d and RTX 4080 LP would probably exceed $ 2,000.
