Perhaps the worst thing about a heat wave is disturbed sleep. Everyone likes hot weather when sitting in a park with a cool drink and sun flesh, but it’s much less fun at 1 a.m. when you feel like you are lying inside a volcano.
I have tested and wrote on many best fans on the market, but the one I’m dreaming of at the moment is the shark turboblade. It does not look like any fan I have seen before – the atmosphere is a bit like a windmill and an air purifier had a baby. But in action, it is a lean and nasty cold air machine – and it has a functionality that makes it particularly good for sleep. This fan scored four impressive stars in our shark turboblade review (I didn’t write this one, but I also tested this model and I can attest to its effectiveness).
The “arms” each explode a concentrated air blade. They can be tilted individually (high / bottom, left / right) and rotate so that they are sitting side by side or stacked vertically. The whole thing is on a telescopic post, which means that the configuration is also adjustable in height. Here is the best piece: for sleep, you can adjust the arms horizontally, at the right height for your bed, and tilt them so that they push a fresh air blanket on you while you are sleeping. Dreamer.
The turboblade is more expensive, and if you prefer something cheaper, there are many alternatives on the market. Here are three others of my favorites.
