- A new official Gopro Max 2 teaser shows that he is finally preparing for the launch
- The 360 -degree action cam has been in preparation for years
- He will compete with the DJI OSMO 360 and Insta360 X5 recently on the run
The Gopro Max 2 has been in development for so long that it has almost won mythical status, but the 360 camera is finally ready to be officially launched – as new images from Teaser have just confirmed it.
Gopro shared the two Max 2 images, which show two paratroopers using the camera, on all its social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter). They were accompanied by the slogan in a word “droping”, which suggests that we could finally see the camera soon.
The images do not tell us a large part of the real successor of the original GoPro Max, which launched in 2019. Like the GoPro Hero 13 Black, the body of the camera has a heat pebble with front to avoid overheating overheating. The objective of Max 2 also seems to be more centralized than on its predecessor.
Gopro’s long -awaited camera will fall into an increasingly congested space. The battle for the title of the best 360 camera has reheated recently, with the arrival of Insta360 X5, recent leaks unmask the DJI Osmo 360 and Akaso today revealing the cheapest 360 camera so far, the Akaso 360.
But despite growing competition, Gopro remains the most recognizable name in action cameras – so we can’t wait to see what the new max 2 brings.
Analysis: competition can only be good for 360 cameras fans
The GoPro Max 2 background is not promising. Gopro told us that his Insta360 rival was “in progress” in September 2023, almost two years ago. Then in May 2024, it owed a launch by the end of this year, and then increased to 2025.
So why the long delay? Gopro has not yet entered details, but it is no secret that society has had difficulties recently. Earlier this year, CEO Nick Woodman voluntarily renounced his salary to help the company, but Gopro’s shares and income have both sang in the past year.
However, it is good to see the Max 2 finally the parachinet through dark clouds. Although it will probably find it difficult to eclipse the latest flagship products of Insta360 (the Chinese company has launched four iterations of its 360-degree flagship camera from the maximum original), the max 2 will hope, new, new features such as interchangeable objectives and improved software to make a good fight.
The good news for Gopro is that the advantages of 360 cameras cannot still be reproduced by smartphones. Pulling all around you, then pointing the camera where you want afterwards is still a very useful editing tip. And the 360 camera space will benefit from a rejuvenated gopro in the mixture – even if its Chinese rivals have learned to prosper in the world of post -action camera.
