- IOS 26 public beta 3 improves applications opening times
- This means that using applications feels much faster and more snap
- The adjustment means that the content of the load applications is faster, however
The third public version of Apple’s iOS 26 has just landed, and it comes with a few minor adjustments and adjustments for your iPhone. But there is a change that really caught my attention, and it made my iPhone so much faster in the process.
Once you have downloaded iOS 26 Public Beta 3, you will probably notice the change almost immediately: now, the opening and closing applications feel much richer than before, with applications that come to life on your screen as soon as you press them. Instead of waiting for them to fill your screen, they are almost instantly there. The video further on this page shows the speed in action.
In terms of objectives, there is probably only a minor difference in the opening times of applications and closing between iOS 18 and the third beta of iOS 26 – maybe just a few milliseconds. However, in practice, you absolutely notice the change. I love the speed with which I have the impression of being able to dive into my applications without waiting for the animation to end in iOS 26.
In times when I have to start quickly – as to open my camera application to capture a unique moment, for example – the new animation is a real blessing. But these times are relatively rare, and I found that the main advantage is simply the feeling of increased meat that I now get with my iPhone. It is a small change, but significant.
The slight drawback

That said, it should be noted that you may not feel the advantages at any time. Indeed, the change has an impact on the speed with which the container of an application takes care of and fills your screen, but it does not really make the content of this application to be loaded more quickly.
So, if an application is badly optimized or requires a lot of time to display content on the screen, the latest IOS 26 public version will probably not feel it faster. This means that improvements could vary, depending on the applications you use the most.
However, if your applications are well done and quickly load their internal operation, you will really start to feel improvement when iOS 26 lands properly next month.
Updates like this show that small adjustments can sometimes make more difference than new features or large light modifications. This is certainly the case here, and the rapid application loading animations could be one of my favorite adjustments found in iOS 26 so far.
