Popsockets is finally ready for your vertical close -up. Unveiled this week, the new handle and stand of Kick-out Magsafe finally allows you to use a popsocket as a support for an iPhone in vertical mode. That’s good, all you tiktkers, popsckets has become your hands -free shooting friend.
For years, I have transported popsocks to the back of my best iPhones (I even had one with a design created by one of my children). I have never glued the reusable popsocket adhesive directly to the back of my phone and I have always placed a thin and transparent plastic case on the phone chassis and glued the pop-out grip.
However, when Apple introduced Magsafe, it was no longer logical for me to cover the load magnet. I could, but for the wireless load, I had to remove the phone from the case. So, I went to a case adapted to Magsafe and an endearing support of Speck which included a folded foot for – you guessed it – vertical hands -free video shoots.
Now, however, I may not need the Speck (which is unfortunately subject to the break; I have traveled three stands). The new handle and stand of Kick-Out Popsocket looks like a traditional popsocket, but instead of a small base covered with glue, the pop-out handle is attached to a larger, round and ready base for the Magsafe.
Once attached to the back of an iPhone 16 or a Magsafe iPhone 16 case, the base has a hinge body, allowing you to tilt the Popsocket handle far from the phone, where it becomes a stand. You can rotate the base to create a support for the horizontal or vertical positioning of the videos. In the photos and videos provided by Popsockts, the cutting medium seems to reach the table perfectly, putting the phone at an angle of almost 90 degrees.
It looks like a little clever engineering of popsckets, because the hinge has a full range of movement, which means that you can configure your iPhone at almost any angle.
You can use the handle and the kick stand without an case and reach it directly at the back of your iPhone, but Popcockets also sells a Magsafe companion set for the iPhone 16 line (no other iPhone range is supported). Like the kick, each case sells $ 40. No international prices are currently available.
The kick and the stand are not the first design suitable for Magsafe de Popsockts, but it is the first which can act as a versatile stand. $ 40 may seem much to pay for an iPhone handle, but the possibility of filming hands -free in both fashion is difficult to quantify.
I did many Tiktok unpacking using my stand speck in vertical mode, and when a tripod was not available, I supported it on tables to obtain a full photo.
One thing that is not clear is if popsocket heads can be exchanged, for example, seasonal handle heads, as you can do with previous popsockets handles. In my house, my wife likes to switch between a spring and a friendly head, which is actually a snow globe in the shape of a disc.
The Kick-Out Magsafe grip & stand is available in six styles and colors of materials, including raidal aluminum Silver (or purple), black, latte, putty and twilight.
