Ecovacs has a new flagship robot vacuum, the Deebot X11 omnicyclone, and it is a question of providing uninterrupted cleaning with minimal human intervention. Alongside the rapid charging load, another upgrade caught my attention: the addition of agentic AI, in the form of “Yiko agent”.
If you are not familiar with the term, the AI agent uses systems that can make decisions and solve problems independently, while Gen-Ai is mainly based on predefined directives.
Yiko appeared for the first time in the Deebot Robovacs as an integrated vocal assistant in 2021. Yiko 2.0 arrived in 2023, with the ability to understand complex sentences. In 2024, we obtained Yiko GPT, who used the LLM to provide an even more intelligent cleaning … But the Yiko agent is again a step in place.
The Yiko agent “learns proactively how you live”, then adapts his routines to adapt to your lifestyle. Ecovacs says it will do it without needing daily contribution, but rather you “speak naturally, and agent Yiko sets up on work”.
A smoother cleaning process
I am not completely sure that I am ready for a Robovac with agency, but in a window of IFA 2025, a brand representative explained how it can be used to make interaction with your robot vacuum a more fluid process. They explained that users did not really benefit from the vocal control capacities of their Robovac: 80% of users repeat the same orders to their empty robots every day, and many do not use the voice assistant to modify the parameters.
Ecovacs optimized the Yiko agent for three areas – “start”, “use” and “fix”. When you feed the Deebot X11 for the first time, an automatic walk comes into play, so you get used to instructing your bot using the voice from deactivation.
The “use” part is probably the most interesting. If you put the Deebot X11 omnicyclone in the “AI mode of the agent”, it will offer specific recommendations for the parameters to be used, depending on the situation in which it is.
He can detect the types of floor, so if he knows that he will clean a wooden floor, it might suggest using less water. If you asked him to clean some rooms that require cleaning, then clean a carpet room, it would first suggest tackling the carpet room so that there is no danger of dragging damp tampons on it.
If he cleanses the kitchen and thinks he could be fatty, he will return to his platform to collect a robust cleaning solution (with a decrease agent) rather than the standard solution.
Finally, agent Yiko is intended to help you solve the problems you encounter. He will provide real -time vocal comments with problem solving advice.
In reality, I think that the term “agency” is used quite freely here, and we do not really look at a vacuum of the robot which will make really independent decisions. The idea of a Robovac that can suggest more effective cleaning routines, I am much more on board.
The Ecovacs Deebot X11 Omnickyclone was sold in early September in the United States and Canada, with a list of $ 1,499.99 (CA 1,999.99 $). It is available on Ecovacs.com and Amazon in the United States and Canada, as well as Bestbuy.com and Target.com in the United States.
