- Nano SSD offers a storage of 512 GB and a safety of fingerprints in a small size
- Works with iPhone, Android, Mac and Gaming devices, without additional software
- Evaluated, IP65 and supports 4K video on iPhone Pro
Twopan launched the Nano SSD, a compact USB-C storage device with an integrated fingerprint reader, a feature that we would like to see more storage manufacturers offered.
Weighing only 5 g and the size of a gum stick, the Twopan Nano SSD measures 20 x 13 x 5 mm and offers 512 GB of high speed storage in a design suitable for keys.
The main attraction of the product is, of course, the biometric safety it offers. The device supports up to 20 fingerprints and does not require applications or software. Twopan says it connect it and it works.
Large compatibility
The Nano SSD connects via a USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port and will work with devices such as the iPhone 15/16 Pro, MacBook Pro, iPad Air, Steam Deck, PS5 and Canon and Sony Cameras that support the transfer of USB-C files.
It supports Direct 4K and HD recording on the latest iPhone Pro models using HEVC (H.265) at 60 frames per second, making it a good choice for content creators working in high resolution formats.
It is also compatible with Android phones from Samsung and Google, offering large conviviality without the need for adapters or additional cables.
Twopan says that it is part of phone cases that are 3 mm thick or less, which makes it even easier to use on the go without removing protection.
Despite its small size, the Nano SSD offers up to 450 MB / s of reading and writing speeds. It is resistant to water and dust with an IP65 note and is tested too much up to 10 meters. The case is made of aluminum and shock resistant plastic, providing additional sustainability to users who travel or work outside.
Twopan Nano SSD is currently live on Kickstarter with a retail price around $ 99. The creators sought $ 1,277 in funding and managed to draw more than $ 197,000 in more than 1,600 contributors. The shipment is expected in August 2025.
Like most of the materials funded by crowdfunding, there is always a chance of delays or changes. But if he holds promises, it could well be one of the most secure portable training.
