The mooring stations are a penny a dozen in 2025, but finding one that checks all the boxes can often be a challenge. Fortunately, the Memdock G2 does that – and it looks fantastic to start.
The Memdock G2 is based on its previous iteration, which was designed mainly as a Magsafe quay for iPhones. Naturally, it is larger than its predecessor, but the G2 still has an impressive compact frame, which makes it the ideal companion of a MacBook Pro on a house or an office.
It is not limited to laptops, however, and is compatible with office computers and even game consoles, making it a versatile option for professionals and occasional users.
Under the hood of the Memdock G2
Complete with a customizable mechanical keyboard – which includes six programmable keys which can be set to the content of your heart – the G2 also includes a single control button.
Users also have the possibility of allocating specific keys to specific functions or macros via its complementary application. The reception station includes seven ports in total. These include a 100W power delivery charge (PD), allowing users to simultaneously load a range of devices, as well as two USB 3.0 and a USB-C 3.1 port of speeds that can go as far as ‘at 10 Gbps to rationalize file transfers.
From the point of view of productivity, however, this is the place where the Memdock G2 is a Gamechanger for users. The reception station includes an HDMI output, which supports a 4K monitor up to 60 Hz, which makes it ideal for those who have an external display or mixture and correspondence screens.
Since the platform has large power options, this also means less cables strewn your home workstation alongside any additional instructor.
In a practical review by YANKO designThe publication noted that the configuration of the home station is surprisingly easy and is a plug-in and game device.
However, there are certain drawbacks. While Windows users have full access to keys customization capacities, MacOS does not currently support personalized key programming features. Memdock, however, alluded to future updates to extend these capacities.
