The funeral prayers of the PML-N senator and chief of Jamiat Ahle Hadith Pakistan, Professor Sajid Mir, took place on the ground of Iqbal College, with thousands of people present, including eminent political, religious and social figures.

The funerals were led by Sheikh-UL-HADITH HAFIZ MASOOD ALAM, drawing a great congregation of the whole political and religious spectrum. Among those who participated were the Minister of Defense Khawaja Asif, the Minister of Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Maulana Asad Mahmood, Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer, Senator Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi.

Professor Sajid Mir died on Saturday at the age of 86 after a heart attack, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan, citing family sources. His death sent shock to the political and religious communities of Pakistan.

Following his death, the central executive council of Jamiat Ahle Hadith Pakistan appointed Maulana Abu Muhammad Turab as a party leader. Originally from Quetta, Maulana Turab was selected by the mutual consultation, confirmed the party in an official declaration.

Professor Mir, a revered scholar and respected political leader, organized several diplomas, including a master’s degree in English and Islamic studies, a baccalaureate in economics, and was also a graduate of the traditional Dars-E-Nizami program.

Elected in the Senate five times on a PML-N ticket, MIR was known for his integrity and was personally invited by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to challenge the elections-never bid for a ticket itself.

Tributes have flocked through the political landscape. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described him as a visionary statesman and Islamic scholar, praising his coherent voice against extremism and sectarianism. “His absence has left a vacuum in the national policy that will be difficult to fulfill,” the Prime Minister said in an official statement.

The former Prime Minister and President of the PML-N, Nawaz Sharif, also expressed deep sadness, calling for the religious, academic and parliamentary contributions of “unforgettable” MIR.

We remember the deceased senator for his plea in favor of democratic continuity and to promote inter -retain harmony. He leaves behind a heritage of public service, scholarships and dedication unshakable to his party and his faith.
