Three brothers among four dead as shop rental dispute turns deadly in Nushki

The deceased were close relatives from the same tribe, police say the conflict between them had been going on for some time

A dispute over the rental of a vacant shop escalated into an armed clash in Kili Qadirabad, Nushki, on Monday morning, leaving four people dead, including three brothers, police said.

The police said The Express PK Press Club that an argument between two parties over the rental of the shop turned violent, leading to the death of Babu Alam, Babarg and Zulqarnain Khan, sons of Dinar Khan Badini, at the scene.

From the opposite side, Sohail Ahmed, son of Muhammad Ayub Badini, was also shot dead, police said.

Residents told authorities that the two parties were close relatives belonging to the same tribe and that the conflict had been going on for some time. Residents said the exchange of fire caused panic in the neighborhood, forcing people to stay indoors for several hours.

Police arrived on scene shortly after the incident was reported and secured the area. The bodies were taken into custody and transferred to hospital for an autopsy.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Nushki said FIRs would be registered against both parties, adding that raids were underway to arrest the suspects involved in the shooting.

Police said the situation had been brought under control and additional personnel had been deployed to the area to prevent further violence.

A local jirga also intervened, calling on both sides to exercise restraint. The jirga announced that it plans to convene a peace jirga to help resolve this long-standing conflict alongside the legal proceedings.

Residents expressed sadness over the killings and urged authorities to take effective measures to resolve tribal and property disputes quickly.
