Individuals admit to luring others via social media by offering them money to access sensitive information.
Three Indian spies have been booked under the Official Secrets Act after being arrested by security forces for their involvement in India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
Security agencies, in an effective intelligence-led operation, arrested three individuals suspected of being involved in espionage activities on behalf of RAW. According to Pakistan Associated Pressthe accused belong to Narowal, Bahawalpur and Neelum district of Azad Kashmir.
Those arrested admitted to being lured to certain social media platforms by offering them money and relationships with women in exchange for access to sensitive information.
Payments were allegedly made to the suspects through Easypaisa, cryptocurrency wallets and bank accounts.
During the investigation, the suspects admitted to maintaining continuous contact with people, including women, believed to be associated with RAW via social media.
Sources further said that cases have been registered against the accused under the Official Secrets Act. Following legal proceedings, the courts handed down sentences.
In November last year, a Pakistani fisherman who was allegedly recruited by Indian intelligence to carry out espionage activities in the country was arrested.
Information Minister Atta Tarar said in a statement that a Pakistani fisherman named Ejaz Mallah was apprehended by Pakistani law enforcement after being forced by Indian intelligence to work for them.
In October 2025, an Indian national, Usman, was also sentenced to 20 years in prison in Pakistan for espionage and terrorism. Usman had been under surveillance for several months before his arrest. Intelligence reports indicated his involvement in espionage and terrorist activities aimed at destabilizing the province.
The conviction comes against the backdrop of previous incidents of Indian espionage in Pakistan. In March 2016, Pakistani intelligence arrested Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, marking a significant milestone in the fight against terrorism and exposing India’s deep-rooted involvement in state-sponsored subversion.
Jadhav, a serving officer of Indian intelligence agency RAW, was apprehended in Balochistan while actively planning terrorist operations. This was the first case where an intelligence officer serving in one country was captured in another for orchestrating terrorist activities.
