According to the administration of the Diamer district, three bodies were received at the Regional Hospital of the Headquarters (RHQ) in Chilas, while a injured person remains under treatment.
The incident occurred around 3.30 p.m., the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said in a press release.
The Cloudlarst struck Jal and Diyung, causing generalized damage. The authorities declared 14 to 15 major blockages due to debris, rocks, landslides and sudden floods, seriously disturbing travel and access to emergencies.
The rescue operations carried out by the local authorities have evacuated tourists blocked from various points. Transport was organized by the female diploma college and the police, moving people affected in local hotels in Chilas for temporary accommodation.
The deputy commissioner and Superintendent of the Diamer police visited the affected area and managed to reach the middle of the victim.
However, the remaining part was deemed inaccessible due to large rock deposits and unstable land.
Babusar Road remains completely blocked, without immediate reopening in sight. Meanwhile, some parts of the Karakoram highway (KKH) in Lal Pari and Tatha Pani are also closed, where 10 to 15 vehicles were trapped in nallahs and areas affected by the slides.
Emergency teams continue operations in the midst of difficult conditions, working to restore access and ensure the safe evacuation of all blocked persons.
The NDMA and the local administration closely monitor the situation, because meteorological instability remains a concern.
