Three killed while the dumper returns to the students

Abbottabad:

A road accident near Lady Garden, Abbottabad, cost three schoolchildren’s lives and left five more injured in a critical manner when a Dumor truck exceeded a group of students from the Canton board of directors while crossing the road early Friday morning.

According to the first reports, the deceased was identified as Rehan, 10, Manal, 14, and Sawab, 13. The injured students included Urooba, 5, Sawera, 13, Yashfa, 15 and Ehtesham, 11. All the victims belonged to Banda Phugwariyan, a suburban locality of Abbottabad.

The failure pilot, Mohsin Khan, fled the premises immediately after the accident. However, the police seized the truck (TKM-060 registration number) and recorded a case at the cantonment police station under articles 279, 337, 320 and 322 of the Pakistani penal code. Raids are underway to stop the driver on the run.

The 1122 rescue teams moved the deceased and injured at the Abbottabad DHQ hospital, where doctors described the state of injured children as criticism.

Sources have confirmed that all the victims belonged to the same extended family. The funeral prayers for the deceased were offered in Banda Phugwariyan, which have attended a large number of people in mourning.

Family members and local residents blamed the tragedy of traffic police negligence, alleging that despite dozens of guards deployed along the 7 km silk road in the city, heavy vehicles are often allowed to spend for limited hours. Eye witnesses on the protest site also allegedly alleged that the guards focus more on the issue of Challans – considering 30% of collections – than on traffic regulations to prevent such incidents.

SSP Qamar Hayat Khan traffic has confirmed that the trucks were prohibited from entering the city between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., which raised questions about how the parade had access during limited hours. DPO Abbottabad Umar Tufail (PSP) took a remarkable, ordering strict legal action against the driver and the seizure of the vehicle.
