Three “thieves” killed in an alleged cross fire with CCD

Lodhran:

Three alleged armed thieves were killed, allegedly by the shots of their accomplices, during an end of evening meeting with the Crime Control Department (CCD) near Jallah Araain in Lodhran.

According to a CCD spokesperson, a patrol team was parked near Pul Behishti on the road to Multan, Lodhran, when five unidentified men on two motorcycles approached Multan management in suspicious circumstances.

After being reported to stop for a routine check, the suspects would have crossed the point of control and run away to the government forest zone.

The CCD team continued them, after which the suspects would have covered behind the trees and opened fire to the police.

In response, the CCD officers returned the fire while hiding behind the trees and the irrigation canals.

Police say they have repeatedly warned the suspects to surrender, but the suspects have continued to shoot while moving each other.

Once the dismissal is stopped, the police searched the area using torches and found three seriously injured suspects.

During the inspection, the three were found dead, were said to have been killed by their own accomplices during the cross fires. Near the bodies, the police recovered two pistols with 30 objects, a rifle and a motorcycle.

The deceased remains unidentified and the bodies were sent to the hospital for a post mortem exam. Officials said efforts were underway to confirm their identity.

CCD sources suggest that the suspects were involved in recent banking attempts and armed assaults in Karachi, Muzaffargarh and Dera Ghazi Khan. The group was also suspected of having shot a boy during a flight to Jallah Araain and shoot a vehicle during an attempted theft of a failed bank in Danyapur last week.
