CRUSH:
Three terrorists wanted “key agents” of Pakistan of Tehreek-E-Taliban Prohibited (TTP) were killed in a joint operation carried out by the Terrorism Department (CTD) and the Barikot Tehsil police of the Swat, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa District on Friday.
In a press release, the CTD (Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa) noted that a targeted raid had been launched on “verified intelligence” concerning the presence of terrorists.
“During the interception, the suspects opened fire blind to the CTD team. The CTD responded with tactical precision, neutralizing the three activists on the spot,” the statement said.
The Swat CTD qualified the terrorists eliminated as Fitna-Al Khawarij, a term used by the State for the members of the TTP prohibited, and added that the operation was supported by the local police.
The declaration noted that the terrorists had been involved in IED explosions targeting the convoys of application of the law, the armed attacks against police stations and infrastructure, and the martyrdom of at least three police officials.
Among the militants killed was Ajmal alias Waqas, son of Abdul Ghaffar and resident of Mulkabad, Mingora, noted the declaration. He would have been sought in nine cases related to terrorism and was involved in the targeted murder of the members of the Village Defense Committee (VDC), an attempted assassination of a defender and extortion of civilians. A bonus of 2 million rupees had been placed for his capture or elimination.
Another terrorist was identified as Matiullah alias Ishaq / Junaid, son of Ibrat Shah and resident of Dubsar, Marttung in the district of Shangla. He was sought after in two cases of terrorism and had been linked to targeted murders of people helping the law enforcement organizations.
The third terrorist killed was identified as Rahimullah Rahmani alias Roohullah, son of Amanullah and resident of Shirey, Nuristan, Afghanistan. He was sought in two cases related to terrorism and had been involved in targeted murders and facilitating terrorist activities.
“The intelligence reports also confirm that the unit operated under the management of managers abroad funded abroad, with active plans to increase attacks against security forces, public infrastructure and pro-state persons,” said the CTD declaration.
He added that the operation was a testimony to the dedication, precision and coordination interinstitutions of Swat CTD and the district police which remained committed to protecting regional peace and eliminating the threat of militancy.
North Waziristan
Two terrorists were said to have been killed and several others were injured in a joint operation by police and security forces in the Shiwa Tehsil in northern Waziristan.
The operation took place in the jurisdiction of Chowk Police Post.
Hanguer
Meanwhile, a suspect in key terror involved in the attack on the police officer of the Hangu district (DPO) Muhammad Khalid Khan was killed in a follow -up operation.
The operation was carried out by Hangu police late Friday evening.
According to official sources, intelligence operation was launched in the Naryab area in the jurisdiction of the Doaba police station.
Reservoir
An injured terrorist belonging to a forbidden outfit went to the security forces in the Tank district. The suspect would have been involved in anti-state activities.
