Tiger Woods announced on Tuesday that he had broken his left Achilles tendon.
“While I was starting to accelerate my own training and train at home, I felt strong pain in my left Achille, which was deemed broken,” Woods announced on social networks.
Woods said he had undergone an operation on Tuesday, it “went well” and “we expect a complete recovery”.

“I’m back home now and I plan to focus on my recovery and rehabilitation, thank you for all the support.”
Woods participated in its new company, TGL, a golf simulation league founded by Woods and Rory McILroy. He teams up with Tom Kim, Max Homa and Kevin Kisner.
Woods’s already dark future seems even more disturbing. Since he finished tied to the ninth at the Open of Farmers Insurance 2020, his best finish in his 18 official events since then has been tied for 37th in the PGA 2020 championship.
Last year, he participated in only five events, one of which being the Genesis Invitational, the other four majors. He withdrew from Genesis, finished dead last in the masters and missed the cup in the last three majors.

Donald Trump was “the facilitator” in PGA-Liv discussions, said Jay Monahan
This came after participating in Genesis and Masters in 2023, where he finished equally in 45th and withdrew, respectively. In 2022, he played in The Masters (47th), the PGA championship (withdrawn) and the open championship (missed coupe).
Just when it appeared that Woods returned the clock, it seemed to be a false hope. In 2018, he finished second in the Fedex Cup ranking. In 2019, he won the Masters.
Since then, this has been a difficult section for Woods, which, in 14 majors since he won the green jacket in 2019, has failed to bring the top 20 together. It was his longest sequence of this type since he failed to finish in the top 20 in the first six majors of his career in 1995 and 1996. During his last 26 majors, he has only four top 20.

After the United States Open, Woods, who was 49 years old in December, admitted that he “could or not” was his last. His last injury raises more questions about his future.
